Innovative Safety Solutions

With an increase of electronics and battery powered devices the increased risk of fires is on the rise. These are especially dangerous in high risk areas like during a flight or on a train as there is no second chance. E:BAG uses a combination of PBI fabric and Nano Technology to deal with these types of events.

Wearables
We have developed a range of devices that serve a wide range of applications from runners through to lone workers. These devices offer connectivity and a SOS function that allows for notifications when at risk or injury occurs. These ergonomically designed devices are positioned with the user in mind.

Why do lithium-ion batteries pose a fire risk?Lithium-ion batteries can pose a fire risk due to factors such as overcharging, short circuits, physical damage, or using incompatible chargers. It's crucial to handle and store lithium-ion batteries properly to minimise the risk of fire incidents.

Where does Barnbrook Systems fit in to this?Barnbrook and Flair are working in partnership on developing and deploying products like E:BAG, E:CRATE and E:PAD in to the market place. The aim of Flair and Barnbrook are closely aligned and we are developing in partnership solutions that both protect and prevent people and plant. Find out more about Barnbrook Systems here

Was it Flair that featured on BBC One Show?Yes we were featured on the BBC One Show in January alongside TJ Waste & Recycling. E:BAG was demonstrated by Andrew Barnett from Barnbrook and was shown dealing with a lithium ion battery fire. We also sell in to other solutions like Air travel, Rail and concerts and venues where many batteries are coming together in one place. You can watch the show here Read more about E:BAG here

What is E:BAG and how does it work? There is only one E:BAG that has built in Nano Fire Suppression. Others on the market like eBag, E-Bag or EBAG are bags for charging devices in, the E:BAG is designed to be used in an electrical fire or to mitigate thermal runaway from device like phones or power banks. As seen on the BBC One Show the E:BAG deploys Nano Fire Suppression liquid when temperatures exceeded 140 degrees Celsius, both cooling and suppressing any potential risks. Is this the same technology that I saw on the BBC One Show?Yes we were featured on the show in November with Electrical Safety First - https://www.electricalsafetyfirst.org.uk demonstrating the challenges of vapes and the risk of fire they pose in recycling centres.
